The Secret to Making More Money In Your Business

How can you accomplish that? It's called INCOME PLANNING. Here are 5 steps that you can control to make more money in your company.

IDENTIFY WHAT YOUR CUSTOMERS WANT - First, find out what products or services your clients desire and then offer what they want. One way to find out what your customers want is to go through your sales receipts, and find out what product or service is the biggest seller. Question your customers about 1) why they bought that item or service, and 2) how they expected the product or service to benefit them. Now repeat their response in your advertising to promote that product or service.

TARGET YOUR MARKET WITH PROMOTION - Promoting something in a way that will be responded to by your customers is an art. Promotion does not necessarily mean offering a reduced price. It's much more important to find out why a customer needs or wants what you have to offer, and exactly what criteria they will use to make a buying decision. Fast delivery and dependable service may be more important than price.

Find cost effective methods to promote. When you meet a potential client, get their business card, and send them a personal letter letting them know how your services and products can help them. This is one of the most personal, least expensive promotional actions you can do. Postcards mailed every 30 days to current and potential clients can also be an effective way to promote.

A second effective method to get new clients is to request referrals from your satisfied customers. You can make it enjoyable for your clients to refer new business by coming up with a referral game they can play, where they get something in return for referrals who buy. Allow your clients help you out. They really do want you to succeed in your business.

SELL AND DELIVER - Selling is less difficult when you are genuinely interested in your clients and want to help them. ASK them what they want. That makes it much easier to sell them your products or services. For example, a young single person who wants a 2-door convertible sports car is going to walk off in disgust if the salesman insists on showing them 4-door sedans, even if it's the deal of the century.

After you've sold the product, courteous, professional, fast delivery is a key to guarantee customer satisfaction. If you are in a service business, this is doubly important. Taking care to deliver exactly what you promised, when you promised it. can mean repeat business and referrals of new customers.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY - For every dollar you decide to spend in your business, ask yourself how that dollar is going to return $5 or more worth of income back into your business. Set aside a percentage of the weekly income to fund a promotional budget and then work out the most effective ways to reach your customers within the budget. It is extremely disheartening when the income you worked hard to earn gets wasted on purchases that do not give you a profitable return on your investment.

REPEAT SUCCESSFUL PROMOTIONAL ACTIONS - Take a look back in the past to when you were last making the most sales. Find out what your successful promotional actions were at the time and do those actions again.
