Make A Web Site To Fight Your Consumer Battle

by Tem Balanco

There are times when the police and other social institutions fail to protect the consumers from scrupulous means employed by greedy big businesses, ready to squeeze every penny out of the consumers' pockets. You have two options in such a situation. First, you can file your petition in a consumer court which will take years to pass its judgment. Second, you can raise your own voice against the culprit business through non-traditional media such as Internet. The first step towards doing that is to make a web site.

If you are thinking of setting up your own website, you may need to give some thought to the content you will have on your website. Then you may consider a name for your website that reflects that content. For instance, if your goal on your website is to crusade against corporate malfeasance, then the name should directly relate to your goal.

Websites documenting unethical business practices should devote much of their content to concrete proof of these practices. Viewers will find your content much more believable and reliable if substantial proof of unethical conduct is provided. Possible sources of proof include images of the product purchased, the bill of sale, and/or correspondence related to the complaints lodged with the business, especially any replies made by the business to a consumer's complaint.

When you make a web site, you have to arrange to give it a domain name. Buying a domain name is simple enough, but you must be careful not to have any dealings with the con men that are lurking out there. Industry wisdom dictates that you should get your domain name from a legitimate registry services provider rather than using a so-called third party reseller.

If you do not have a dedicated server that you can use for posting your website text, photographs, and videos, a hosting plan make be the right thing for you. A inexpensive ad-supporting hosting plan is only a small fraction of your budget when it comes to the safety of your website.

Your consumer grievance website need not have many or complex functionalities, and this simplicity afford the opportunity for you to design it yourself. It would be a sheer waste of precious dollars to engage an expert design firm if the website functionalities does not demand technical expertise. The easier option would be to use software, which has custom template and site builder option to make a web site.

Rather than feel helpless against a large company, people are putting their complaints on their own Websites. On a website, they can directly state their case and often post similar complaints from other people. The thing you must think about when designing a site for bringing underhanded business practices to the public's attention is the presentation of the evidence. Once you get a domain name, you need to either buy a hosting plan or find a dedicated server so that you can upload text, videos, and pictures to your website. You just have to utilize a custom template and a site building program to make a web site like yours.
